HOW ACT CAREGIVERS ASSIST
Caregiver duties vary according to each client’s needs and individualized care plan. Our trained caregivers assist with personal care, observe physical condition, and provide approved household and daily-living support.
A bath is provided as the care plan and visit require. This may include a complete bed bath, sponge bath, shower, or assistance with showering.
Support may include shampooing and styling hair, combing, shaving, oral and denture care, toileting, and help getting dressed or undressed.
During personal care, caregivers observe for redness, bruising, or skin breakdown and promptly notify management of concerns. Bed-bound clients are repositioned according to their care plan.
Light housekeeping focuses on the client’s immediate living area. This may include straightening the bed, changing linens, cleaning the bathroom and meal-preparation area, washing used dishes, and taking out trash.
Caregivers may wash the client’s personal clothing, bed linens, towels, and washcloths as time and the care plan allow.
A simple meal may be prepared when a client cannot safely prepare one. Caregivers may also assist clients who have difficulty feeding themselves.
Shopping is arranged in advance with management. For everyone’s protection, caregivers follow ACT’s money-handling policy and clients should not transfer funds directly to caregivers outside an approved arrangement.
Caregivers may assist with walking, transfers, prescribed exercises, braces, compression stockings, and other precautions that help reduce falls and injuries.
Depending on the client’s condition, home environment, and care plan, duties may include med reminders, trash removal, companionship, and other approved assistance.
Clients are encouraged to do as much as safely possible for themselves. This supports confidence and helps each person maintain or regain a more independent lifestyle.
IMPORTANT CLIENT INFORMATION
Visit length is based on each client’s needs and scheduled shift. ACT works with clients and families to develop a personalized care plan. Questions about services or caregiver assignments are always welcome.
Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Management is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for urgent home-care service questions and concerns.
Angel Care Team does not provide emergency medical services. For a serious medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Please notify management if a client is admitted to the hospital or taken to the ER.
